AUTHOR REGISTRATION THROUGH EDAS

Each lead author must visit the EDAS website and establish an account with a username and password.

  1. Visit the FIE 2025 Submission Portal and click the link to create a new account, if you do not already have an account. If you have an account, log in to EDAS and follow the Submission Instructions below.
  2. Create your profile. Only the five fields with the red asterisk are required. *It is very important that your name and affiliation associated with your EDAS account are correct and match the name and affiliation that will be listed on your paper. These fields are first & last name, affiliation (company or organization), country, e-mail address, and status. When the fields are filled in, check the Privacy Policies box and click the Add Person button.    [note: if you select the USA as the country, you will get a message asking for your state]
  3. You will receive an e-mail containing your password. Your email address and the given password must later be used to access the system during the following steps, so be careful to remember them.
  4. You can then return to the EDAS log-in page (http://www.edas.info) and change your assigned password to one that is easier to remember. To do this, click on the My Profile tab, and then click on change your password. Be sure to record your username, password, and ID number for later reference.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

Please log in at http://www.edas.info and follow these steps:

  1. Click here to be taken to the FIE 2025 Submission Portal.
  2. Select the track which applies to your submission. 
    1. FIE 2025 has tracks for Full Paper & WIP submissions and Alternative Session Proposal papers. For more information on these, visit the guideline pages below:
      1. Full Paper and Work-in-Progress (WIP) Guidelines
      2. Alternative Session Proposal Guidelines (Workshops, Special Sessions, Panels, and Student Panels) 
  3. Full and WIP Submissions
    1. Type in the title of your initial submission, add up to (3) Keywords (optional), and select the Category & Topic Area your paper falls under best. [This will help in choosing the reviewers. The PDF of your initial submission will be uploaded later]
    2. Click the Submit button.
    3. On the next page you will see a large green check mark and a statement that the paper was recorded.
    4. The last row on this page has the paper file types you will upload throughout the submission process. 
    5. “Structured Abstract” is used to refer to the PDF form of initial Full Paper and WIP submissions. For more information on preparing your Structured Abstract, please see the Full Paper and WIP Guidelines.
  4. Alternative Session Proposal submissions
    Workshops, Special Sessions, Panels, and Student Panels
    1. Type in the title of your initial submission, add up to (3) Keywords (optional), and select the Category & Topic Area your paper falls under best. [This will help in choosing the reviewers. The PDF of your initial submission will be uploaded later]
    2. Click the Submit button.
    3. On the next page you will see a large green check mark and a statement that the paper was recorded.
    4. The last row on this page has the paper file types you will upload throughout the submission process. 
    5. “Proposal Abstract” is used to refer to the PDF form of initial Alternative Session Proposal submissions. For more information on preparing your Proposal Abstract, please see the Alternative Session Proposal Guidelines. 
  5. Each paper file type has an icon of a blue cloud with an upload arrow. Click on this icon for your initial submission type, and then you can upload the PDF for your submission.
  6. You can also upload the paper by clicking the My Papers tab at the top of the screen, and then following the instructions above.
  7. IMPORTANT:
    FIE 2025 will implement a double-anonymous review process. Please ensure your manuscripts are fully anonymized before uploading. No author or affiliation information should be present in your uploaded document.

    While no author or affiliation information should be present in your uploaded document in keeping with our double-anonymous review process, all contributing authors must be added to the EDAS submission portal prior to the Preliminary Paper deadline. No changes to the author listing may be made after the review process has begun. Please ensure all authors are fully accounted for in EDAS prior to the deadline. There will be no exceptions.

IEEE COPYRIGHT NOTICE

If authors would like to post their papers electronically on any website, any FTP site, or any other electronic dissemination technique, they must include the IEEE Copyright notice on the initial screen displaying the IEEE-copyrighted material.

IEEE Copyright Form

Each accepted contribution to FIE 2025 must be accompanied by a signed Copyright Form. The copyright form should be filled out and signed by one author, preferably the primary author.

PREPRINT

Authors who have submitted or plan to submit their articles to IEEE may post their preprints in the following locations:

  • arXiv.org, TechRxiv.org, or any not-for-profit preprint server approved by the Publication Services and Products Board (PSPB)
  • Author’s employer’s website or institutional repository
  • Author’s personal website
  • IEEE does not consider this to be a form of prior publication. The following statement must be included on the initial screen:

“This work has been submitted to the IEEE for possible publication. Copyright may be transferred without notice, after which this version may no longer be accessible.”

Upon acceptance of the article by IEEE, the author must replace the posted preprint article with either (1) the full citation to the IEEE work with the DOI, or (2) the accepted version of the article with the DOI and an appropriate copyright notice (as described in the “accepted article” section below). No other changes may be made to the accepted article.

Please note that once the article has been published by IEEE, preprints on locations not specified above should be removed if possible.
